Zoo Day

It’s officially Summer break at our house and we started off with a trip to

one of our favorite spots in town to bring the kids!

The San Antonio Zoo is a must for this Summer! We adventured out on a Sunday and had the best time! The weather was sunshine perfect and breezy! I always love visiting here as I have the fondest memories as a child from school field trips to family trips, I love it here so much and our kids always have the best time.

Right now they have an ongoing Dino Land Exhibit throughout the park plus a daily lineup of activites to go along! This is so perfect for all dino lovers! They actually move and have fun little facts to study up on; so fun! Arlowe loved seeing all the dinosaurs he plays with at home.

My little dino lovers

This is my probably my most favorite area of the Zoo. I distinctly remember being here when I was in Kindergarten, admiring those steps and playing with friends. This is also where the rhinos are! And look at Arlowe with no shoes! Like always! lol

Ohhhhh how we loved the Zootennial Carousel rides! Arlowe picked out the alligator to ride, Ayden picked some sort of African dog I don’t know lol and Lynne chose the spinner seat. FUN! I promise, Arlowe could ride the carousel all day if we let him! Thank goodness our zoo membership comes with unlimited carousel rides!

Here is the cutest little spot for young kids, it’s called the Tiny Tot Nature Spot; baby boy loved it and had the hardest time leaving! From having their own viewing deck above a sweet little turtle pond to a super fun play kitchen area. So much for them to explore and have fun at their own level.

There is also a live stage for events and dances; all the things little ones love to boogie to!

Memories from our last Zoo trip back in 2019!

Arlowe was only 1 and so BABY! I miss that! Time FLIES!

Well, here are some other fun things to make sure you do while at the zoo!

  • The Butterfly Garden is gorgeous inside and full of the most beautiful butterflies to see!
  • Enter into Lory Landing to feed the most colorful birds and they love landing on you to feed and play! Another fun exhibit to explore!
  • The Giraffe Feeding! Definitely get in line and grab those large green leafs to feed the giant giraffes! They are majestic to view and this is by far the kids favorite animal interaction.
  • The Zoo Train Ride is a must! We always save it for last after a long day of walking; it’s quite a treat! It takes you through Brackenridge Park where there is so much to see and do!
